Ben has over 30 years of experience as a programmer and system designer. He is Principal Software Engineer at Google, Director of Security at The Bunker Secure Hosting, a highly secure data storage provider, and a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University.
Ben is also Director of the Open Rights Group where he defends freedom of expression, privacy and consumer rights on the internet. He is a member of the Apache Software Foundation, a community of developers and users that supports open-source software projects.
Ben founded OpenSSL, the world’s most widely used free cryptographic toolkit.
