Senior QA - Gojimo

Gojimo are looking for a talented Automation Engineer with solid hands-on testing experience and a desire to learn new skills.

We currently have a mixture of manual and automated testing and are putting increasing emphasis on our behaviour-driven development initiatives and building a stronger and more comprehensive automated testing capability. In joining the team, you will be expected to drive improvements in quality and be comfortable with changing demands and processes as we move further toward our automated testing goals.

Responsibilities

At Gojimo we are committed to ensuring the quality of our platform so that all our users have a great experience on our site and in our apps. As a QA embedded in a development team you would be expected to:

  • Collaborate with QA Analysts, Product Owners and stakeholders early in the development process to understand and document behavioural scenarios for prioritised stories
  • Support QA Analysts and Product Owners in writing high-quality, value-driven scenarios
  • Be confident implementing scenarios using Cucumber or similar, and support the wider development team in this area
  • Develop an automation suite appropriate to the needs of the business
  • Investigate build failures and take appropriate actions
  • Participate in our Agile development cycle as a quality and automation specialist and also as a delivery generalist – contributing to the spirit of getting stuff done
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure deliverables are testable and provable, and that quality is built in
  • Manage and prioritise defects
  • Effectively communicate testing activities and results in oral and written formats
  • Participate in effective estimation, planning and quality risk analysis

About you

  • Hands-on manual and automated testing experience of web and mobile apps
  • Experience of test case analysis and design
  • Enthusiasm for Agile software development practices, including SCRUM and Kanban
  • Awareness of BDD and a desire to further develop expertise
  • An understanding of automated testing frameworks and a desire to develop skills in this area
  • Experience of cross browser/device/OS testing
  • A willingness to perform both manual and automated testing, and the knowledge to determine which method(s) would be most advantageous in a given context
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail

Nice to haves…

  • Computer science degree (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Gherkin/Cucumber
  • Knowledge of exploratory testing techniques
  • Experience with Appium, Robotium, or other mobile automation frameworks
  • Experience with Selenium Webdriver or other web automation frameworks
  • Knowledge of one or more of C#, Java, Ruby, Objective-C or Swift
  • Competency in MySQL
